Statement of Faith

GOD
I believe in one true God, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. God is the creator and ruler of the universe, all-powerful, all-knowing, everywhere present, and unchangeable; infinitely perfect in love, truth, righteousness, justice, goodness, grace, and mercy.

JESUS CHRIST
I believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He is truly God and truly man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus lived a life of perfect obedience to the Father and voluntarily made atonement for the sins of all by dying on the cross as their substitute, and in this way, accomplishing salvation for all who trust in Him alone.

He arose bodily from the dead after three days, demonstrating His power over sin and death. He ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father, continually making intercession on behalf of all who have received Him as their Savior and Lord. And Jesus will come again to earth, personally and visibly, to consummate history and God's eternal plan.

HOLY SPIRIT
I believe the Holy Spirit - is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. I believe the Holy Spirit indwells and seals every believer at the moment of saving faith. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer spiritual gifts when they are saved. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and, during this age, to convince men of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, and indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service.

SCRIPTURE
I believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is divine revelation and the inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original manuscripts. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.

ANGELS AND SATAN
I believe that angels are spiritual beings who were created in a sinless state and that they occupied different orders and rank. They presently exist in both fallen and unfallen states; the former includes Satan and his angels. I believe that Satan, is the author of all sin, he fell for his own pride and was followed by those angels who rebelled against God. Satan was judged at the cross, and ultimately he will be cast into the Lake of Fire for eternity.

MANKIND
People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme objects of God’s creation, but fell into disobedience by a voluntary decision and, as a result, became separated from God, and therefore spiritually dead and subject to physical death. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin.” This attitude separates people from God and was transmitted to all humanity, except Jesus Christ, who lived a sinless life. The blood of Jesus Christ was shed for our redemption.

SALVATION
I believe that the shed of precious blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit and, thus become children of God.<.p>

I believe that salvation is by grace through faith, that salvation is the free gift of God, neither merited nor secured in part or in whole by any virtue or work of man; but received only by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.

SANCTIFICATION
I believe that sanctification may be viewed as positional, progressive, and complete. Believers are positionally sanctified at the time of salvation when they receive a standing that is perfect "in Christ", that believers are progressively sanctified in their experience in daily life when they "grow in grace" and are changed from glory to glory by the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe progressive sanctification should result in righteous living and good works, not as the procuring cause of salvation in any sense, but as an evidence and fruit. Finally, I believe that Christians will be completely sanctified when they will be taken to be with Christ and "shall be like Him".

WATER BAPTISM
I believe water baptism - is immersing a willing Christian under water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience that identifies a person with Jesus Christ. However, should not to be regarded as means of salvation.

THE CHURCH
I believe that the church includes all people who through faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit, and are therefore united together in the Body of Christ of which He is the head. The purposes of the church are: worship, evangelism, fellowship, discipleship and ministry to others in the local community and around the world. As members of the Church, it is our responsibility to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, supporting the local church and loving one another with pure hearts.

SPIRITUAL GIFTS
Spiritual Gifts - are special abilities the Holy Spirit gives whenever, wherever, and to whomever He wants. These gifts always glorify Jesus and build up the church. We let the Spirit be in charge of His gifts.

SIN
I believe that evil is present in the world because of our sinful nature chooses sin and evil therefore is the consequence of our sinful nature. However, because of what Jesus has accomplished on our behalf, we have the opportunity to choose the goodness of God’s grace over evil. The source of evil is Satan. And God will one day confine the enemy and his demons to hell for eternity. While God could eliminate evil immediately, He endures the grief of waiting to do so in order to give more people the opportunity to come to faith in Him. God is able to cause all things, even the evil in this world, to work together for the good of those who love Him.

ETERNAL LIFE
I believe that death seals the eternal destiny of each person. For all mankind, there will be a resurrection into the unseen world of the Spirit and a judgment that will determine the eternity of every individual. Unbelievers will be eternally separated from God. Believers will be received into eternal communion with God.

DISCIPLESHIP,
I believe God has set us apart for the purpose of growing us to become more like His Son. God changes our heart in order to change our character and actions. When we reach heaven, God will complete the process of making every believer to be like Jesus.
