The Ultimate Wedding

Is Your Name on The Guest List?

I was asked by quite few people if I am planning to watch the live podcast of the royal wedding. Well the answer is no. I am not a big fan of the monarchy and not really crazy about the “royal family”. I just don’t have a vested interest to set aside time to really follow their lives, just as I never followed closely any Hollywood star’s life. I guess we get more then we ask for coverage through news channels and that is just more than enough for me. I will of course check in to see the wedding dress … the love for fashion will push me to watch for a short period of time, just to check the royal fashion, so to speak.

But something really captured my attention, and that is the preparation for the wedding. After the official engagement announcement on November 16, 2010, I could say without any exaggeration that an entire army of people were set into action. Their ultimate goal is to plan and make every preparation needed to provide William and Kate – a dream come true – wedding experience. TV channels followed the preparation steps and kept us informed about the latest news in regards of the wedding details.

ultimate wedding

While William and Kate’s wedding might be one of the most watched weddings in our days, there is a huge – yet unnoticed by news and media crews – wedding preparation going on for the ultimate wedding of all times. We might not even realize it at times, but you can be assured that there is a heavenly army getting ready for the big day of the Lord.

The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. ~ Mathew 22:2
And I tell you this, that many Gentiles will come from all over the world—from east and west—and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob at the feast in the Kingdom of Heaven. ~ Matthew 8:11

God, our heavenly Father is preparing the ultimate wedding of all times.

Jesus came and gave his life for his bride. We are his bride. Jesus promised that he will come back, for us.

My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. ~ John 14: 2-3

God’s promises are true. When he promises something that is a done deal. The big question is are we ready? I have a feeling we are living in the times when at any moment, instead of thunder storms the heaven will open and we will see Jesus coming back. If you look what’s happening around the world today, you can easily say that the preparation is almost finished.

Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten bridesmaids who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. The five who were foolish didn’t take enough olive oil for their lamps, but the other five were wise enough to take along extra oil. When the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep. At midnight they were roused by the shout, ‘Look, the bridegroom is coming! Come out and meet him!’ All the bridesmaids got up and prepared their lamps. Then the five foolish ones asked the others, ‘Please give us some of your oil because our lamps are going out.’ But the others replied, ‘We don’t have enough for all of us. Go to a shop and buy some for yourselves.’ But while they were gone to buy oil, the bridegroom came. Then those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was locked. Later, when the other five bridesmaids returned, they stood outside, calling, ‘Lord! Lord! Open the door for us!’ But he called back, ‘Believe me, I don’t know you!’ So you, too, must keep watch! For you do not know the day or hour of my return. ~ Matthew 25:1-13

Jesus is coming back.

You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ ~ John 14:28

The only reason he might seem to be late is because many of us are still begging for our kids, unsaved family members and friends. But he will be back sooner then we think. We don’t know the day, but we know that he is coming. So we MUST keep watch and be ready at ALL times. Are you ready? Is your name on the guest list?

Let us be glad and rejoice, and let us give honor to him. For the time has come for the wedding feast of the Lamb, and his bride has prepared herself. ~ Revelation 19:7
And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb.” ~ Revelation 19:9

Is your name on the list? Are you ready? On the day when Jesus comes back for his bride you don’t want to be an outsider, you don’t want to be a media reporter covering the story; you want to be called by name. The rapture will happen, Jesus is coming back is your name on the list? Are you ready for his coming?

One of the saddest things in the bible is when the Father prepared the wedding feast and those who were initially invited were too busy to be ready and attend the party. Are you ready?

Hearing this, a man sitting at the table with Jesus exclaimed, “What a blessing it will be to attend a banquet in the Kingdom of God!” Jesus replied with this story: “A man prepared a great feast and sent out many invitations. When the banquet was ready, he sent his servant to tell the guests, ‘Come, the banquet is ready.’ But they all began making excuses. One said, ‘I have just bought a field and must inspect it. Please excuse me.’  Another said, ‘I have just bought five pairs of oxen, and I want to try them out. Please excuse me.’ Another said, ‘I now have a wife, so I can’t come.’ The servant returned and told his master what they had said. His master was furious and said, ‘Go quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and invite the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.’  After the servant had done this, he reported, ‘There is still room for more.’  So his master said, ‘Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full.  For none of those I first invited will get even the smallest taste of my banquet.’ ~ Luke 14:15-24
For many are invited, but few are chosen. ~ Matthew 22:14

Don’t miss your invitation. Don’t be too busy with life to miss the obvious signs that while might not be covered by media; heavenly armies are preparing the ultimate wedding of all times. While news crews might not write about it or have a live podcast, Jesus is making the last preparations for his return.

Question: I don’t know what you feel when you think about God’s coming. If you have any doubts, any questions, any insecurities about your name being on the guest list … I beg you, to take your time and make it your number one priority to talk to God. To repent, ask for forgiveness, accept Jesus scarifies and ask God that by his Holy Spirit to give you the assurance, the confidence you need to know without doubt, that your name is written in the book of life. You want Jesus to know you.

For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. ~ Romans 8: 16
