Jesus is coming back on May 21, 2011 – ARE YOU READY?

What is your first thought, emotion when you think of the possibility that Jesus might come back in three days?

In the last few days you heard more and more news coverage in TV about the predictions of Harold Camping that the judgment day is May 21, 2011.  The followers of Harold Camping spent their own money for bench ads, bus ads and big billboard ads to get people’s attention of the second coming of Jesus.

Jesus is coming back

I really don’t want to go into details about what the bible says and what not. I’m not interested in a theological debate. Over the years I learned that if people want to explain and support their believes they will find a way and scriptures to support their point. You either take the Bible as a whole, or is senseless. To pick and choose some parts to support your ideology is not right.

Could God reveal to someone his second coming if he wish to? Yes – He did send Jonah to Nineveh to save those people. God is Almighty and he can choose to do whatever pleases him.

For me the question is not whether Jesus is coming back on May 21, 2011 but whether you are ready for his coming?

We know for sure that Jesus is coming back!

To be honest … I would be happy if he would come back on May 21st. The world around us screams about his coming. I would say we are closer than ever for his return. The way things are today - it’s either going to be his coming or a huge awakening, a Holy Spirit revival because we live just as people lived in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah.

I really don’t believe Jesus is coming back on May 21, 2011. But how do you know that you will not meet him tonight, or tomorrow morning?

When the Son of Man returns, it. will be like it was in Noah’s day.  In those days before the flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat.  People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes. ~Matthew 25:37-39

It’s NOT about the date and time, it’s about your every day relationship with God. Just because I write this article today, it might be the last one – Just because you read this today, it might be your last article you read before your heart stops.

ARE YOU READY TO MEET JESUS?

It was September 5, 2009 when a friend of ours Jonathan and his lovely family were enjoying the last days of summer having a family time beside the lake. He and his son had a swimming test – who is going to reach the deck first? After few meters of swimming – his heart stopped, he drowned and the emergency crew and hospital staff were unable to save his life. Cause of death - Massive heart attack. He just turned 50 two weeks earlier. A healthy Godly man, who was a runner, who loved his family – he didn’t had three days to prepare – God called his name and he went home to meet his Father.

May 13, 2011 a different setting … a group of youth decided to have a youth day in nature, play games, sing songs and just be together. It’s a Christian youth gathering. The boys made the teams and are ready to play some soccer. Ten minutes into the game and Szabolcs suddenly collapses. He is 28, father of a two years old son and an unborn baby, youth leader of their church youth group. Ambulance came, but it was too late. Cause of death – Massive stroke attack.  He didn’t had three days to get ready, to say good bye – he was serving God, playing with youth, prepared to share God’s words with those kids – God called his name.

It’s NOT about future rapture dates … it’s your present. ARE YOU READY NOW? It’s mind blowing to me that people get so crazy about the rapture and start to panic, while they live daily as the rapture would be the only way to meet Jesus. You don’t know when and how will he call your name.

Before you were born, your days were numbered – each and every one of them. My little daughter was a gift to us for only nine month. She never breathes the air of this world, yet she accomplished her purpose and God called her name, before I could call her name. God loaned her for nine months to change us, transform us and made me realize that I should never worry about the future, but take every moment as a gift and use it for His glory.

We don’t have to be ready for the rapture; we have to be ready to meet Jesus however he might choose to meet us.

We live in a busy world which is spinning around us like crazy and we miss the gift of life, the gift of each day because we chase dreams. We live either in the past and its guilt or the future with its potential dreams.

Every morning brings you a new opportunity to life, but at the same time every day could be your last day. Do you ever get that? People don’t just jump out of bed thinking: well today might be my last day - I wonder if we would – how we would treat others?

So please don’t start panicking about the rapture, about the judgment day – you better ask yourself: Do you know Jesus? Does he know you? Is your name written in the book of life? If your answer to these questions are yes, then it just doesn’t matter if it’s May 21, 2011 or the day before or after, because you will be excited to meet him. If you’re not sure about your relationship with Jesus, then please talk to me. Send me an email, comment I would love to talk to you.

On the left side of this website there are 5 menu titles: God’s Desire, Our Problem, God’s Solution, Our Response and Receive Christ. If you click on them they will open and there is a prayer if you would like to accept God in your life. If you already accepted God in your heart, but have questions please share.

Looking forward to hear from you. Share your thoughts and what you think about the judgment day being on May 21, 2011. I will finish with my first question: What is your first thought, emotion when you think to the possibility that Jesus might come back in few days?
